Welcome to Don Bosco Family….
Don Bosco institutions are part of a global network
managed by the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB), a Roman Catholic religious institute founded by
Saint John Bosco in the 19th century in Italy. Don Bosco, also known as Saint John Bosco, was an
Italian Catholic priest, educator, and writer who dedicated his life to helping disadvantaged
youth.
Born on August 16, 1815, in Castelnuovo d'Asti, Italy,
Don Bosco founded the Salesians of Don Bosco, a religious order focused on education and care
for young people.
Despite being born into a poor family and experiencing hardship from a young age, Don Bosco
pursued his education and was ordained as a priest in 1841. His compassion and dedication to
serving others led him to establish a global network of institutions.
Today the Don Bosco presence is vast and spans across 134 countries worldwide, on all six
continents. With over 261 schools, 51 colleges, 192 hostels, 138 technical institutions, a
university, and numerous other services aimed at empowering vulnerable humanity in India alone
we aim to nurture holistic education to the young.
With a rich history in India dating back to 1912, when the first Don Bosco Night School was
established in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, we have been committed to providing quality education
and holistic development, particularly for the marginalized and less privileged.
We believe in developing the whole child, fostering academic growth, values, and a sense of
responsibility towards themselves, society, and the environment. Our approach is based on
the Preventive System, which emphasizes reason, religion, and loving-kindness, providing a
nurturing environment that cares for each child.
As we continue to shape minds and futures, we invite you to join us in our endeavor to provide comprehensive and compassionate education, inspired by the values of Saint John Bosco. Together, let's empower the youth for life's journey and make a positive impact on the world.
